THE WHITEFRONTS-ROAST BELIEF, LP, 1986, USA

Wonky and trumpet-addled post punk spew with a engagingly shambolic approach to song structure from this mid 80's Santa Barbara, California outfit that reminds me of The Polkaholics, Circle X and Iceplants . The particularly hot and bothered among you can find their further live misadventures courtesy of the fine folks at WFMU Here

maybe rapidshit messed up the file also.
I'm very excited to hear this one!
I've been listening to Wiener Blutrausch nonstop since you posted it, thanks a million

I shall have to check this one out to see if it jogs my memory. I don't believe I ever heard this, but I did see them once. I wonder who else was on that bill, as I'm sure I wasn't there for Whitefronts. Did they ever tour with The Holy Sisters of the Gaga Dada or Tupelo Chain Sex? Maybe, they were just on a bill with Smegma or The Hellcows.

My vague memory is of a sound nothing like The Polkaholics. Granted, I never saw them, but their records indicate a tight, complex sound with a bit of the Magic Band's fractured rhythm structures.

When I was in Vomit Launch we used to play many shows together and hang out. We even covered "Weight Down" from this on one of our albums. Ann and Dave from the group are in The Art of Flying in New Mexico - cool stuff.
